Virginity linked health risks December 6, 2007

New York: People who started having sex at a younger or older than average age appear to be at greater risk of developing sexual health related problems later in their life. This findings have casted doubts on the benefits of abstinence-only sexual education that has been introduced in US schools.

The findings indicated that those who stated early or late face increased risk of problems in sexual functions. This is true among men who will face problem of maintaining an erection or reaching orgasm.

This findings are published in American Journal of Public Health. The research was conducted by researchers led by Dr Theo G.M. Sandfort of Columbia University in New York City.
